Queen of Smoky Quartz

One of the most popular minerals people are familiar with is quartz, perhaps because it can be found in almost all mineral environments. It’s also available in many varieties, forms, and colors, and quite a few of the mineral varieties are color-enhanced. Smoky Quartz is a color variety of a type of crystalline quartz found in light yellowish brown shades, brown, and in some cases almost black.

The nice thing about Smoky Quartz is that its abundance makes it not on the pricey end of gemstones and the stone is beautiful when cut or faceted. It is popularly used in earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings. If you like yellow-brown to brown to accent your wardrobe, Smoky Quartz is an excellent choice!

Most Smoky Quartz used in jewelry today is sourced from Brazil Madagascar as a close second as a prevalent producer of this gem. It is also found in Scotland, where it is the national gem of Scotland, in honor of the Cairngorm Mountains. In the U.S. it has been the official state gem of New Hampshire since 1985.

Jennifer loves working with Smoky Quartz for her jewelry line. As wearable art goes, Smoky Quartz is versatile because of its availability and neutral color which pairs well with almost anything. She hand-selects her gemstones from around the world at trade shows throughout the year.

While some people wear this gem to help mood elevation and relieving stress, Jennifer loves it for its simple, elegant beauty. Check out this beloved creation featuring Smoky Quartz: Queen of Smokey Quartz
